Join us for a relaxing day of creativity in the beautiful surroundings of Limepark with artist Maurice Orr
Saturday 26 September 2020
*bring your own materials including easel if needed
*bring your own packed lunch
Join artist Maurice Orr for a day of plein air (outdoors) painting or sketching in the beautiful surroundings of Limepark, Armoy. Take your own preferred materials (and easel if you wish) for a relaxing day of creativity in a small and friendly group, observing social distancing. Maurice also has his studio based at Limepark so the day will also involve the artist showing you his working space.
One mile outside Armoy Village sits Limepark, a sympathetically restored Georgian farmstead. Wildlife and fauna have an important place at Limepark and the grounds feature 300 year old yew trees, old stone walls and 17th century outbuildings with the backdrop of mountains ~ the perfect relaxing Saturday to get creative in a unique and inspirational rural setting.
If the weather is poor, the activity will relocate indoors so best to take some photos to work from or you can take some snaps with your smartphone or iPad to work on.
This activity is part of our ARTbeat and Causeway Creative Trail initiatives, promoting the arts and well-being through our environment and engagement with nature.
This project is receiving financial support through Council’s Good Relations Programme. The purpose of the event / activity is to bring people together, using creative arts as a method of connecting people from different community and cultural backgrounds using shared spaces (whether online or in a specific location) so that we can build positive relations using the medium of the creative arts
