About Polar Bolero

Polar Bolero is a Derry-based alternative folk band known for their rich blend of folk, jazz, and Irish traditional music. Usually performing as a six-piece, this special acoustic duo set will highlight the band’s raw musicality, intricate harmonies, and evocative songwriting.

Since their emergence in late 2023, they have built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting new acts, winning the public vote for Live Act of the Year at the NI Music Awards 2023. Their standout performances at Stendhal Festival, Atlantic Sessions, and IMBOLC Folk Festival have solidified their place in the live music scene, with their headline IMBOLC set marking a career highlight. They have also supported Crash Test Dummies, Gareth Dunlop, and Ocean Colour Scene, demonstrating their ability to captivate audiences alongside major names.

Their latest single, The Rain, has received international radio play, resonating with listeners across the Netherlands, Germany, and the USA. Hot Press described it as “gentle, misty, and drizzly,” capturing the band’s signature atmospheric sound.

Now working on their debut EP (set for release in 2025) with Belfast producer Matthew Weir, Polar Bolero continues to carve out a unique space in the Irish music landscape.

For fans of poetic lyricism, immersive soundscapes, and masterful musicianship, Polar Bolero’s acoustic duo promises a spellbinding live experience.
