Successful Opening of Here, There & Them at Flowerfield Arts Centre
We welcomed an exceptional turnout on Saturday 11 January, for the launch of Here, There & Them: Contemporary Irish Art from the ACNI Collection. The event marked the beginning of a visually compelling exhibition featuring a curated selection of works from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Contemporary Art Collection, the region’s leading repository of contemporary visual arts.
Attendees were treated to a captivating introduction and guided tour led by Suzanne Lyle and Joanna Johnston of the Arts Council’s Collections and Acquisitions team. Their insightful commentary provided a rich context for the diverse array of works on display, spanning painting, sculpture, print, photography, and craft. This vibrant selection celebrates two decades of artistic excellence, showcasing Northern Ireland-based artists from emerging to established in their careers.
Presented across two gallery spaces at Flowerfield Arts Centre, Here, There & Them encapsulates the energy and vitality of contemporary artistic practice. The exhibition is a testament to the transformative power of the arts and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s unwavering commitment to supporting creativity.
The exhibition will run until 1 March 2025, offering ample opportunity for the public to immerse themselves in this remarkable celebration of contemporary Irish art. Admission is free, ensuring accessibility for all to engage with these significant works.
