CALL FOR WRITERS FOR C.S. LEWIS INSPIRED EVENING OF SPOKEN WORD

On 22nd November 2023, Flowerfield Arts Centre will showcase Keeping Promises - an evening of new work inspired by the writings of CS Lewis. "Keeping Promises" will offer a platform for writers to showcase their original works, be it prose, poetry, flash fiction, or excerpts from longer pieces, that have been influenced by the remarkable literary contributions of CS Lewis. This event is an opportunity for aspiring and established writers to come together and pay homage to one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century.

This event will be curated by local poet and playwright Anne McMaster

"CS Lewis' works have touched the hearts and minds of countless readers around the world, and we are eager to see how his literary legacy has inspired our local writers. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and share their creative interpretations of his timeless themes."

If you’re interested in reading at this event, please submit your work for consideration (prose, poetry, flash fiction or excerpt from a longer piece of writing), telling us how and why your work has been influenced by CS Lewis’ writing.

The total running time for your submitted work can be up to 7 minutes’ reading time.

Please email your work to Siobhan.Dunbar@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk before midday on Thursday 26th October.
