24th July 2024
Step into a world of imagination, creativity, and collaboration at Flowerfield Arts Centre's latest exhibition, "Cardboard Coast Town." This captivating installation, created entirely by the hands and minds of local children, is open for all to explore until Saturday 27th July.
"Cardboard Coast Town" is not just an exhibition; it is a testament to the boundless creativity of our young artists. Tasked with building their own vision of a town throughout July, the children brought to life a vibrant and whimsical community. Robots stand guard where adults might have envisioned a fairground, and flying dolphins soar in place of traditional kites. Every corner of this cardboard town bursts with colour, ingenuity, and the unrestrained imagination of its creators.
"At Flowerfield Arts Centre, we believe in giving children the freedom to dream and create without limitations," said Fran Porter Arts & Cultural Facilities Officer. "This project allowed them to take over our main gallery space, transforming it into a place of wonder and joy. Their teamwork and innovative thinking were truly inspiring."
Visitors are encouraged to experience this ephemeral masterpiece before it disappears. "Cardboard Coast Town" is a short-lived burst of creativity that offers a unique glimpse into the minds of our young artists. Don't miss the chance to see their extraordinary work up close.
As July ends, Flowerfield Arts Centre is gearing up for a packed August full of exciting activities. There will be creative workshops for both adults and children, live music in the park, the Causeway Craft Trail Makers Showcase, and an alfresco screening of the classic film "Grease" in Flowerfield Park.
Come celebrate the end of July with a visit to "Cardboard Coast Town" and look forward to a month of creativity and fun this August at Flowerfield Arts Centre.
