12th March 2025

We recently had the pleasure of hosting two workshops as part of our Creative Care Programme: "Mug Painting for those affected by cancer" and "Watercolour Painting for Adult Carers." These sessions provided wonderful opportunities for participants to unwind, connect, and express their creativity in a supportive environment.
Mug Painting Workshop
Led by the talented Fiona Shannon, these workshops welcomed individuals affected by cancer to design and paint their own mugs. Participants embraced their artistic sides, crafting unique pieces perfect for those cherished tea and coffee moments. The room buzzed with camaraderie as attendees shared stories and supported one another. Getting stuck into creative activities can lift your mood and help you connect with others!
Watercolour Painting for Adult Carers
Elaine Harkness guided adult carers through the delicate art of watercolour painting. These session offered a peaceful retreat for carers to relax and connect with others in similar situations. No prior experience was needed, and participants left with beautiful artworks and a sense of accomplishment. Getting creative is a great way to unwind and connect with others!
The Joy of Getting Creative
Getting stuck into creative activities like these has loads of benefits, especially for carers and those dealing with health challenges:
- Feel-Good Factor: Art is a great way to express yourself, work through emotions, and de-stress.
- Stronger Connections: Group art sessions bring people together, helping to beat loneliness and build support networks.
- Brain Boost: Creative activities keep the mind active, offering a little workout for the brain and boosting overall well-being.
