We are delighted September–December 2026 Programme , bringing together an exciting programme of live events, exhibitions, creative workshops, family activities, film, community projects and new outreach opportunities across Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, Limavady, and Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart.
From acclaimed musicians and theatre to inspiring exhibitions, festive favourites and hands-on opportunities to make and create, the new season offers something for audiences of all ages and interests.
The season gets underway with Cloud Flock & Herds, a new exhibition by award-winning, internationally acclaimed artist Helen Merrigan Colfer, curated by Noelle McAlinden. Returning to Flowerfield after first exhibiting here in 2020, Colfer presents a striking new body of intricate ceramic sculptures exploring identity, belonging and our relationship with others and the world around us.
Music remains at the heart of the Flowerfield programme, with the Northern Lights Sessions bringing exceptional artists to the intimate auditorium, including The Rowan Leslie Trio (11 Sept) We are delighted to be a host venue for 2 great events as part of this year's Atlantic Sessions in November too. The season continues into Christmas with Anthony Toner in Concert (11 Dec), offering an intimate evening of songs, stories and exceptional musicianship, followed by the much-loved Tenx9 Christmas Special, where real people share true stories that are by turns hilarious, heartbreaking and unforgettable.
Audiences can enjoy an eclectic programme of cinema throughout the season, including Palladium Portstewart, a new community film collective bringing together local film enthusiasts with a programme ranging from cult classics to much-loved favourites. Flowerfield will also host screenings from Exhibition on Screen, offering rare insight into some of the world’s most celebrated artists and exhibitions, as well as a special National Theatre Live screening.
There’s plenty of seasonal fun too. The annual Halloween Haunted House returns with creative activities, spooky stories and a monster mash disco, while families can bring their poorly teddy bears along to Big Telly’s Christmas Bear Hospital for a playful and hilarious interactive experience.
December brings the Christmas Craft Market, one of the highlights of the North Coast festive calendar. Bringing together a curated selection of talented Northern Irish artists, makers and craftspeople, the market is the perfect place to discover unique handmade gifts and support independent makers. Alongside the market, visitors can enjoy a festive family decoration session and a special Twilight Market with music, treats and a warm seasonal welcome.
For those who want to get hands-on, Flowerfield offers a packed programme of creative opportunities for children, and adults. Young creatives can explore everything from digital drawing and animation to clay, fused glass and seasonal crafts, while adults can explore pottery, painting, textiles, glass, printmaking and more.
There’s plenty happening beyond the walls of Roe Valley and Flowerfield too. Mums Meet and Make continues monthly at both Arts Centres, giving new parents with babies under one a relaxed, welcoming space to meet others and get creative.
A new programme of outreach activities will bring artists and creative experiences into communities across the borough, with opportunities in Ballycastle, Ballymoney , Cushendun and Feeny including photography, painting, craft, creative writing and artist residencies. Schools, community organisations and local partners will also have opportunities to connect with the Arts Service through creative projects and workshops.
And for local creatives looking to develop their practice, the Culture, Arts & Heritage Small Grants Scheme, Creative Practitioner Bursaries and Creative Youth Bursaries return, with applications opening in December.
