Embrace the New Year with Creativity and Culture at Flowerfield Arts Centre

As the dark winter nights settle in, there’s no better time to explore cosy hobbies, indulge your creative side, and immerse yourself in inspiring cultural experiences. Flowerfield Arts Centre is thrilled to unveil our jam-packed January to April programme, promising something for everyone—from art enthusiasts and music lovers to families and budding creatives.

Exhibitions That Captivate

Step into the world of contemporary art with our headline exhibition, Here, There & Them: Contemporary Irish Art from the ACNI Collection (11 Jan – 1 Mar). This remarkable display features works from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s contemporary collection, highlighting vibrant, dynamic interpretations of place by leading Irish artists. Join us for the exhibition launch on Saturday, 11 January, at 12 noon for a guided tour and insights from the ACNI Collections team.

Also on display this season, Thin Place by Bob Speers (15 Mar – 26 Apr) explores the ethereal beauty and significance of boglands, while The Way I See It(8 Mar – 26 Apr) showcases unique photographic perspectives from 26 women associated with Causeway & Mid Ulster Women’s Aid, creating a profound visual and literary legacy.

Unmissable Live Music and Events

Music lovers will be delighted by the Northern Lights Sessions, featuring incredible Irish talent like Múlú, Gráinne Meyer & Paddy McKeown(7 Mar), The Boondocks (5 Apr), and an intimate evening of poetry and music with Cherry Smyth and Lauren Kinsella in One Mountain: SOLD (28 Mar).

Film fans can enjoy our Monday Matinee Movies, including classics such as Some Like It Hot and Roman Holiday. For something unique, join us for the screening of the Irish-language film Foscadh on 13 March, complete with an introduction by director Seán Breathnach.

Creative Workshops for All Ages

From textiles and fused glass to monoprinting and ceramics, our workshops cater to every interest. Highlights include a two-day textiles course with Janey Moffat and a writing masterclass with Damian Gorman. Parents on maternity leave will love our Mums Meet and Make series, offering creative classes in silk painting and yoga designed to include little ones under 1.

For children, we’ve got Weekend Wonders themed around Chinese New Year, Irish Language Week, Mother’s Day, and Easter, plus pottery and fused glass workshops for hands-on fun
