From Hidden Creativity to Foot-Stomping Music: Exciting January-March Events at Flowerfield Arts Centre
We are delighted to unveil an exciting lineup of cultural events and activities at Flowerfield Arts Centre for January – March.
Explore the Hidden Creativity exhibition (6 Jan – 24 Feb), showcasing the artistic talents of students from North West Regional College. Additionally, we are delighted to host "First They Ignore You" an exhibition by Sheila Chakravariti, curated by Belfast Exposed from 9 March until 20 April.

Live music enthusiasts will be treated to performances by The Breath (24 Feb) and Réalta featuring Myles McCormack(16 Mar). The Breath, led by singer/flautist Ríoghnach Connolly and guitarist Stuart McCallum, offers a mesmerizing blend of Irish folk influences with anthemic themes and powerful hooks. Connolly's soulful vocals are seamlessly woven into McCallum's distinctive sound-world, creating a kaleidoscope of sound that enchants and uplifts. Réalta, a Belfast-based award-winning multi-instrumentalist group, promises a foot-stomping night of superb music, capturing the timeless aspects of Irish tradition in its raw and beautiful form.

Complementing these events, Flowerfield Arts Centre will host a diverse programme of creative workshops for adults and children. From Crafty Kids with Christina to Weekend Wonders with Linda Mulholland and Throwing for Teens with Fiona Shannon, the centre offers a range of engaging activities. Our popular 5-week handbuilding and throwing courses with Fiona Shannon are selling fast and some have limited availability. There will also be Fused glass workshops with Natasha Duddy, a new fused glass evening course with EJ McCartney, painting workshops with local artists including Elaine Harkness and Sarah Carrington, T'ai chi & Qigong, and Irish & Scottish céilí/cèilidh dancing further enrich the offerings.
We are also delighted to have another Mums Meet and Make series for January - March. specifically designed for new parents, provides an opportunity to tap into creativity, relax, and practice mindfulness, fostering lasting friendships.
We are also thrilled to partner with Cinemagic as part of their Young Audiences Supporting Foodbanks Initiative at Mid-Term. Flowerfield will screen Pete's Dragon (10 Feb). Entry is free with food bank donation items and booking is essential. (We also have a fantastic 3-day Mid-Term Art Club with Linda to keep young ones busy and creative during the break.)
