SPOOKY WORKSHOPS AT THE BASE, BALLYCASTLE

Spook-art-ular goings on have been happening at The Base, Ballycastle, over the past month with our outreach Halloween workshops.

Facilitated by artist Brenda Murphy, adults attending The Base have been creating ghoulish props and artwork to decorate their float as they're participating in the town's fabulous Halloween Parade on Tuesday 29 October from 6.30pm.

The Base will be the first float in the parade so keep an eye out for their fang-tastic presentation - you might see a witch down a chimney, a huge scary spider and more! Give them a big cheer as they lead the parade down Castle Street, Ann Street and Quay Road towards the harbour.

We're also working with The Base on some festive workshops in November for an exhibition of their work in our upper corridor in time for Christmas - watch this space for more information.

A Northern Health & Social Care Trust facility, The Base offers adults with a learning disability, a safe, spacious and homely place to meet and socialise together - an invaluable resource within the local community.

Would your community group benefit from outreach support from the Arts Service? We can advise you on developing arts projects, put you in touch with creatives for your art project, help with funding advice and you never know how many wonderful outcomes can develop.
