In this five-week course Fiona will teach you the basics of hand-building including slab building, coiling, pinch pots and using press moulds to create a variety of different pots such as vases and bowls. In the last session, we will add colour to your pots using a variety of slips.

Should you have any previous experience Fiona will be able to assist you in developing your skills and improving your techniques. Items that will be fired and glazed in a clear glaze by the tutor to be collected at a later date.

Explore the practice of still life painting celebrating everyday objects, beginning with drawing exercises that encourage you to be expressive and intuitive. Led by Heather Byrne you will make studies from still life setups of flowers, plants and fruit, and other interesting objects, looking at the play between line, shape and colour.

Bring an A3 sketchbook, 200gms paper/sketchbook, acrylic paint, drawing materials for mixed media (e.g.charcoal, oil pastels, soft pastels, inks, drawing pencils, felt tip pens etc.) Please wear old clothes which you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
