BASKET WEAVING WITH ATLANTIC CRAFT NI for 18+yrs

Join master weaver Louise McClean of Atlantic Craft NI to create a beautiful asymmetrical basket using bark stripped willow (buff) and white willow with the addition of hazel forming an integral handle. Using traditional skills and methods, this workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience in weaving. It is a full day, so please bring a packed lunch, or a supermarket is within 5 minutes walking distance. Early booking is recommended for these very popular days.

This Stitch Together course continues the theme of botanically inspired textiles through the seasons. This season uses autumn seedheads as inspiration. You will create a decorative panel, suitable for a bag or cushion project, using wool and tweed fabrics and crewel (wool) embroidery. Please bring seedheads to inspire. Fabric and threads will be provided.


INK, PAPER & PETALS | MIXED MEDIA BOTANICALS For 18+ YRS

Specialist one off workshop. Through guided exercises you will experiment with different materials such pens , inks, watercolour and collage to capture botanical forms creatively. This three hour workshop will provide the supportive environment to develop your observational skills, experiment with textures and express your own style in vibrant botanical themes. Please bring paint, pencil, eraser, pen and brushes. Painting surfaces will be supplied.


FUSED GLASS CUBIST-STYLE PORTRAIT For 18+ YRS

Design and create your own beautiful and unique glass portrait, inspired by the Cubist Art Movement and the famous artist Picasso. Choose colours that are bright and contrast each other as your layer geometric shapes to explore the face structure. By exploring different views of the face, within the one design you can overlap and create your own abstract portrait. Under the supervision of experienced glass tutor Natasha Duddy you will taught how to cut glass and add coloured frits and stringers to create your final design.
