Stuart Quigley

7 September – 27 October

EXHIBITION LAUNCH: Thursday 5 September at 7pm | Free Admission | All welcome

Stuart Quigley lives and works in his native North Coast of Ireland. Having lived for many years in Cumbria and the Isle of Skye, the dramatic landscapes have shaped how he views himself, his experiences and his artwork.

Athrú meaning change, refers to Quigley’s fascination with fleeting conditions of light and form governed by time, our responses to it and what it means to be a transient witness. He works primarily in oils and pastels on large, stretched canvases and is based in his studio in Derry.

'I like to think of a painting as a 'repository of time'. It is a document of the actions and experiences of the process of making it. It is also a record of my existence for that period of time; that relationship means we are forever connected.'

Stuart is providing a Landscape Painting Masterclass on Saturday 28 September from 10am-3pm.
